Atari 'Spector'

'Spector' was one of the possible names for the Atari 'Cosmos' (which was never released).
After some market testing Atari decided to name its new tabletop system 'Cosmos', so 'Spector' was the possible name for another system using the technique of holography.

Unlike the 'Cosmos', which used static backdrop holgraphy, the 'Spector' was supposed to use a spinning cylinder in its center that would have created a near-3-dimensional playfield.

Up to 3 players could play against each other simultaneously. The goal was to shoot at the opponent who then had to try to deflect the shot...
There is no functional prototype of the 'Spector' known to exist; only mockups. Therefor no detailed information about the exact gameplay can be given.
