Hardware for the Atari 2600

This is the 'Stella' prototype. 'Stella' was the name for the Atari VCS in its development-stage. This prototype luckily was recovered from garbage by Owen Rubin and handed over to Al Alcorn.
This prototype version of the Atari 2600 was completely HAND-WIRED!
It was developed by Joe Decuir, Ron Milner and Steve Mayer in Grass Valley, CA at 'Cyan Engineering' (a subsidiary auf Atari at that time). The project was under supervision of Jay Miner.
