Atari (VCS) 2600 PCB-layouts

Here you will find some PCB's of different versions of the 2600.
If you want to learn more about the cartridge-PCBs, switch to the 'cart-tech' section.

In the beginning, the 2600's PCB was shielded by a heavy case. In the main unit (first picture) there was a second PCB that held the switches ('SELECT', 'RESET', etc.). It had NO electronic components on it.

The first picture shows the PCB of a '2600A', the electric shielding has been removed.
The second picture shows its enlarged chipset (6532, 6507, TIA). As you can see, the three chips have sockets. The sockets have been removed in later versions.

The first picture shows the PCB of a 2600jr. (PAL / silver, long bar), the electric shielding has been removed.
The second picture shows its enlarged chipset (6532, 6507, TIA).
