The Atari 2600 - '4 wood grain'

This version was the third one (including the 'heavy sixer') to be released. The difficulty-switches were banned to the back of the console. In some opinion, this change took away a lot of its original design. The channel-selector went from the bottom to the back as well!
The second, and bigger, difference was the revised motherboard-layout; the shielding of the electric-components has been cut down dramatically; this reduced the consoles weight as well.
